The Tissue-Tek Microtome is specifically designed for cryo-techniques. The cabinet automatically defrosts every 24 hours. The temperature dial controls the chamber down to –30 oC at knife level, and –37 oC to –43 oC. for the Cryobar.
The dual cryobar orientation platform provides two methods for preparing frozen sections: the standard stat technic, and Cryomold specimen mold system. With 5 freezing well capacity. The standard 120mm knife cuts sections between 2 to 20 um in 2 micron increments.
The traditional sectioning process is simply to place the object holder with specimen into microtome chuck. Position knife blade and tissue. Set thickness, and engage automatic feed. Now turn the the outside handwheel to cut.
