Features

The GeneAmp PCR System is specifically designed for the amplification of nucleic acids, using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) process.
The ergonomic design of this instrument includes an easy view backlit blue LCD 60x240 pixel display. You navigate the menu selections via the five softkeys, and the arrow rocker. The keyboard is used to input and edit data.
You can set up new users, and assign to them the method profiles you create and name for each replication. Up to 137 can be stored internally for future recall. The size and “last used” date are displayed in the directory as well. The methods can be selected, and their profiles viewed in detail, and edited.
The sample tray is a 8x12 well matrix., and is serviced by the retractable heater-cover. Built-in diagnostics, include temperature and electronic tests and self calibration. Complete CPU, memory, port tests, and software upgrade are supported.

Menu Selections

The main menu appears at power-on and offers the user the choice of: Run, Create, and Edit method profiles. Utilities, and User selections are also included.
The Edit menu includes View, User, and Sort (by method name, date, or size).
The Utility menu includes Diagnostics, TmCalc, Config, the second Utility menu page includes Delete, Copy, and History.
The User menu presents Accept, New, Edit, and Delete users.

I/O Data Ports

The system is equipped with two RS-485 ports (A & B), and a PC-MCIA computer docking port. External storage, retrieval, and printing are supported.
